Sarah Nash obtained her BA in Political Science from the University of Vienna (2010) before completing an MA in Politics and German at the University of Edinburgh (2011) and an MSc in Human Rights and Political Science at the University of Glasgow (2012), where she was also awarded the T D Campbell Prize for Human Rights and International Politics. Her Masters thesis was concerned with international norms in relation to climate change and forced migration.
Sarah’s PhD thesis, which was supervised by Jürgen Scheffran, focused on discourses which are developing in policy communities regarding climate change and forced migration. In particular, she is interested in monitoring these discourses in the context of the post-2015 global agenda.
Her broader research interests include human rights, environmental policy, discourse analysis, social-constructivist International Relations theory and drivers of forced migration.
Sarah received a Green Talents Scholarship from the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and her PhD was supported by a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). She also won the best paper award at the Hugo conference 2016.
