Muhammad Abid received his Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics and his Bachelor Degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Agriculture in Faisalabad, Pakistan. He has worked with various national and international research institutes in different projects related to agriculture, water, and the environment. Prior to starting his PhD at the Universität Hamburg he worked as Researcher at the Agricultural Economics at International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Pakistan office.
In February 2017, Muhammad Abid finished his PhD at the Research Group Climate Change and Security, focusing on impacts of climate change on agriculture in Pakistan by applying top down and bottom up approaches. He has since joined the Centre for Climate Research and Development (CCRD) at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad, as Assistant/Junior Professor. He works on climate change linkages with food security, land use and water.
